Why the Dates You See Are the Real Dates

A car from the TG Car Rentals fleet in Charleston SC

The nervous question under every rental is the same: what if someone else already has the car? Fair question. Here's why it can't bite you.

Every car in the fleet books on Turo. There's no separate booking system on this site and no spreadsheet a person checks later. When you tap a car here, you land on its Turo listing, and Turo's calendar is the calendar. One car, one calendar, one source of truth.

That means the availability you see on Turo is the real availability, not an optimistic guess that gets confirmed later. If Turo lets you select your dates and book, the car is yours for those dates. No confirmation limbo, no "we'll reach out if there's a conflict."

It also explains a thing renters sometimes notice: a car that showed open on Tuesday is gone on Wednesday. Someone booked it. The fleet is small and specific, which is most of its charm, but it means the popular cars move. If your dates are fixed, book when you see the opening rather than circling back after dinner.

Once you book, those dates are yours. Turo blocks the car for everyone else the moment your booking goes through, so nobody can take the dates out from under you.

If you want to see it, open any car on the fleet page and tap through to Turo. What's open is open. For anything weirder than the calendar can express, like a pickup question or an unusual trip, call the lot at (843) 588-8326 before you book. More on the whole flow is on how booking works.
