The body shop says Thursday, maybe Monday. The insurance adjuster is "processing." And you still have a job, kids, and a life scattered across Charleston. The gap between your car going in and coming out is the least glamorous rental there is, and the one where you least want a hassle.
Here's the easy version. Open the booking page, pick your dates, and take the cheapest thing with four wheels. The Fiat 500X usually holds that title in our fleet. The rate, the deposit, and any fees show before you pay, and pickup is at 1471 Folly Road on James Island. No counter visit, no shuttle, no upsell conversation while your coffee goes cold.
Two details make shop-week rentals fit better than people expect. Most of our cars run a three-day minimum, and repair estimates have never in recorded history come in early, so a three-day floor matches reality. And if the shop calls with the dreaded "parts are delayed," extending is a booking-system conversation, subject to the calendar, rather than a renegotiation with a desk agent.
On insurance: whether your policy or the other driver's covers a rental is between you and the adjuster, and worth a phone call before you book anything anywhere. Some renters pay out of pocket and submit the itemized receipt, which the booking system produces. We're not an insurance-approved-vendor program, which is exactly why there's no runaround.
If the shop week happens to land when you had plans, there's no rule that says the bridge car has to be sad. The convertible costs barely more than the Fiat, and a bad week is a decent excuse.
